Rollers

About

The Men’s National Wheelchair Basketball team- the Rollers- represent Australia at International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) events such as Qualifying events, World Championships, and the Paralympic Games and have been a dominant force in Australian basketball.

Four-time Paralympic medallists, the Rollers began to find success in the mid-90s, as they claimed their first Gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Paralympics. They’ve since been able to remain within the top six global teams, as at three consecutive Games between 2004-2012, they added another Gold and two Silver medals to their name.

Adding to their rich history during the modern era, the Rollers were also able to continue their string of success at the IWBF World Championships, finding the podium at four consecutive Championships (2006-2018) which included two Bronze medals and back-to-back Gold.

Athletes must meet the International Paralympic Committees stringent criteria for classification to be able to participate in events.
