AIS Start Strong Wellbeing Program

Start Strong will provide athletes with an understanding of multiple components of holistic athlete wellbeing, together with athlete stories and experiences. This is a variety of webinars available to you.

Emerging and developing athletes, however, could still have some helpful strategies for all players on the topics discussed.

Compensation Disability Support Pension Grant Program

The purpose of this grant program is to provide financial support to Paralympians whose DSP payments have been affected due to travelling outside Australia for training and/or competitions exceeding the general travel allowance of 28 days in the 2024/25 financial year.

Considering College e-learning course

To support our young athletes to make informed decisions, Basketball Australia are enhancing the tools and resources available for parents and young athletes considering college basketball and have recently exited their contract with BA Pathways. The information in this one of a kind online education course is developed for all disciplines across Basketball but definitely has some key messages for Wheelchair Basketball players when making informed decisions about considering college.

AIS Education Scholarships

Applications for the 2026 Athlete Education Scholarship (AES) are now open. The AES is a collaboration between the AIS and the John & Myriam Wylie Foundation, with a total contribution of $150,000 ($100K AIS + $50K Wylie Foundation). Eligible athletes can receive up to $5,000 to support their education costs.

Para Sport Equipment Enhancement Program

Targeted support to address the specific gap of equipment within the Para sport pathway, enabling more athletes to enter and progress within the Para sport pathway, including those competing within high-performance.

Sport Excellence Scholarship Fund

The Sports Excellence Scholarship Fund (SESF) is a national charity that proudly invests in the future of Australian sport by providing financial scholarships of $1000 to support and empower talented young athletes who are experiencing financial hardship.

Athletes aged 10-18 years-old, whose financial circumstances would preclude them from otherwise participating at representative level for their state/territory or Australia in national and international championships.

Athletes Considering College Webinar

Led by Basketball Australia, this webinar is designed to help athletes & their parents/guardians make informed decisions regarding how to navigate the College pathway. Note this will have an NCAA focus to begin with but then will discuss important topics such as wellbeing, Name Image Likeness (NIL) and Financial Management Considerations.

Athletes from Year 7-12 and their parents and guardians, coaches or administrators.
