Rana has a strong understanding of the cultural, structural and leadership dynamics required to create inclusive sporting environments.  She is one of the few Muslim women of colour to have held senior roles in elite sport, working with organisations such as Cricket Australia and Richmond Football Club. Rana is a respected broadcaster, writer, and speaker on leadership and belonging.

Rana is the Founder and CEO of Good. Human, a consultancy dedicated to shaping workplaces, teams, and communities where people feel they truly belong. Rana also currently serves as a Board Member for Reconciliation Australia and Welcoming Australia.

Rana has worked across the sports sector consulting and advising for the Australian Sports Commission, AFL Clubs, National Sports and government sports portfolios. She is an Opals fan through and through. 

Rana holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Creative Arts. She also has a Certificate IV in AUSLAN

Rana was appointed to the Basketball Australia Board in May 2025.
