Biography

Sean Carroll initially had a career in law enforcement, and then moved into sports administration and has worked both in Australia and abroad within multi-national organisations establishing and leading organisational strategy & policy, stakeholder relationships, governance, security, anti-corruption, and integrity areas.  

He has conducted several high-profile public inquiries and investigations producing extensive reports that contain industry leading recommendations. Sean has managed and been involved in organising committees for numerous international and local sporting events and venues and has led organisations through significant well documented crisis to successful outcomes including developing and implementing strategic and communication plans to ensure participant and public confidence is restored and maintained. 

Sean is currently Tasmania’s inaugural independent Racing Integrity Commissioner and has held this role since December 2024.  He was previously Victoria’s Racing Integrity Commissioner for four years. 

Sean was previously a member of the National Sporting Tribunal panel, and also an AFL Tribunal Advocate for 20 years. 

Sean was appointed to the Basketball Australia Governance and Risk Committee in December 2023.
