Home stretch ahead for soaring CoE teams in NBL1 East
CoE in prime position for a run at NBL1 East run with personnel changes and crucial games ahead
A mainstay of the Australian program, Marianna Tolo is one of the Opals best performed players at international level in recent years.
After following in the footsteps of the basketball champions who came before her by attending the AIS on a scholarship, Tolo graduated to the WNBL and has only ever represented her beloved Canberra Capitals where she is a four-time champion and was co-captain of the 2018-19 and 2019-20 titles.
The Mackay product has faced and overcome adversity, in the form of knee injuries, and established herself as a top-level player overseas, enjoying success throughout Europe.
She also played the 2015 WNBA season with the Los Angeles Sparks.
Tolo’s experience, dedication to defence and knowledge of the European game have made her a reliable performer and leader for her country on the international stage.
A standout in Rio and Tokyo, a place in Paris would mark Tolo’s third Olympic Games.
