Blicavs overcome adversity, in the form of an ACL injury, to once again represent Australia and do so on the biggest of stages.
The daughter of Karen and Andris who both played basketball for Australia, Blicavs debuted for the Opals in 2015. In 2017, she ruptured her ACL while playing for Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL ruling her out of contention for both a home Commonwealth Games in 2018 and the FIBA World Cup of the same year.
An experienced WNBL performer, Blicavs has won championships with the Bendigo Spirit and Southside Flyers.
She experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in 2021, cut from a WNBA training camp with Phoenix Mercury and the Opals Olympic team within weeks of each other. However, the 11th-hour withdrawal of Liz Cambage opened the door for Blicavs to represent her country at the Tokyo Olympics.
Blicavs was a member of the Opals bronze-medal winning team at the 2022 FIBA World Cup in Sydney.
