The Australian teams for the FIBA U15 Oceania Cup have been confirmed.

24 athletes will get their first FIBA tournament experience in Auckland, crossing the Tasman Sea to compete from 30 November to 5 December. It will be the first time the tournament will be hosted in Aotearoa / New Zealand in over 11 years.

Peter Lonergan, General Manager of the Performance Pathway looks forward to seeing the emerging cohort take their first steps in the green and gold.

“It’s an exciting time for these young athletes and everyone involved to see them taking the step and representing Australia at an international FIBA tournament,” said Lonergan.

“If you asked any of the current Boomers and Opals, they will tell you how special it was to see their name on the jersey for the very first time. Auckland will provide an elite introduction for the players to the competitive standard of FIBA ball and what it’s like to represent the country.”
