Basketball Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Pearls team for the VIRTUS / VIBF World 3x3 Cup taking place in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2026.
An extended roster recently attended a three-day selection camp at the Australian Institute of Sport where Coach Davidson and his staff faced the challenge of reducing a squad of 16 to 10.
“The standard from all the players has once again lifted as they all become very comfortable with the 3x3 format,” says Davidson.
“As current World Champions in both 3x3 and 5x5 there is pressure on Australia to continue to produce a strong program. We have added some new younger talent to our experience core players – I’m very excited about this campaign.”

ABOUT | AUSTRALIAN PEARLS
The Pearls are Australia’ s national representative team for female athletes with an intellectual impairment. The Pearls represent Australia on the international stage in such events as the Virtus World Championships and Global Games.
Producing arguably one of Australia’s most successful, long term sporting teams, the Australian Pearls program isn’t powered by big budgets — it’s powered by determination, pride, and community.
Since winning Gold at the Paralympics in 1992, the Pearls have dominated the world stage for over 30 years. Despite being the current 3x3 and 5x5 World Champions, the Australian Pearls remain largely self‑funded, and that’s where you can make a real difference.
