The Emus are through to the Gold Medal game after a commanding 111-74 win over Korea in the Semi Final of the FIBA U18 Asia Cup, extending their unbeaten run through the tournament.
Australia's balance was on full display yet again, with seven players reaching double figures as the Emus shot an efficient 60% from the field for the game. Jai Fa'ale led the way with 20 points on a scorching 7-of-10 shooting, adding 5 rebounds in just over 22 minutes on court. Yahya Basaran continued his standout tournament with 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, alongside 3 blocks.
Bailey Hanson orchestrated the offence superbly, finishing with a game-high 13 assists to go with 11 points, while John Aryang (12 points) and Josh McCann (13 points off the bench) also made significant offensive contributions. William Hamilton continued his consistent all-around play with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
The Emus' depth was once again a key factor, with the bench combining for a significant share of the scoring output. Australia also dominated the boards 66-48 and moved the ball freely, recording 25 assists on 45 made field goals.
With the win locked in, the Emus have booked their spot in the Gold Medal game, where they will face China as they chase an unbeaten run through the tournament and a shot at gold at the FIBA U18 Asia Cup.
