The Emus closed out the group phase in dominant fashion, cruising to a 110-58 win over Chinese Taipei at Veer Savarkar Indoor Stadium in Ahmedabad to finish the group stage unbeaten.
Australia's balance across the roster was on full display, with six players reaching double figures as the Emus shot 48.3% from the field and dominated the boards 74-46 for the game.
Jai Fa'ale continued his strong tournament with a team-high 21 points on efficient 9-of-15 shooting, adding 2 rebounds and a block in 21 minutes on court. Yahya Basaran was once again a force inside, finishing with 15 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while also chipping in 2 assists and 2 blocks.
Isaac Riddle made the most of his minutes off the bench, scoring 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while John Aryang backed up his strong showing against the Philippines with 12 points. Bailey Hanson continued to run the offence effectively, leading the team with 8 assists to go with 7 points, while Antonio Browne also contributed 8 assists alongside 6 points and 3 steals.
Curtis Evic (9 points, 12 rebounds) and William Hamilton (8 points, 8 rebounds) rounded out a well-rounded frontcourt effort, as the Emus' depth continued to be a defining feature of their campaign.
With the group phase now complete and Australia finishing unbeaten, attention turns to the knockout stages as the Emus look to build on their strong form heading into the business end of the FIBA U18 Asia Cup.
