It was spirited battle early for the Emus with the Philippines going shot-for-shot in the early stages.
Then came the inevitable second gear for Luke Brennan and Australia on their way to a 107 - 69 win at Veer Savarkar Indoor Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Emus continue to work out the kinks in their offensive sets but their advantage in defensive play and rebounding has yet to be faltered.
"I think we just needed to keep chipping away," said Brennan.
"I want the guys to play freely. I love the pace that we are playing with. We need to clean up some of the silly turnovers, but outside of that I like where we are at offensively,"
"Philippines were tough and played hard. But our style is about wearing teams down over 40 mins. The boys did a great job of just sticking to the process."
Of the standouts.
"I thought our bench did a great job of coming in and impacting the game early," said Brennan.
"They set the tone for us. Our starters then bounced back after half-time and really started to build our lead.
Yayha Basaran continues as a dominant force in international junior ball. Basaran collected eight rebounds to go with 16 points.
John Aryang had one of his best showings in the green and gold to finish with 16 points and flashed some nice moves to work into jumper range.
We’re liking the look of Antonio Browne bringing out the rock. The Sydneysider has confidence and is showing composure as plays develop. Fellow New South Welshman, Bailey Hanson has also settled in nicely. The NSW Metro representative led assists with eight and scored 14 points
Jai Fa’ale was an active scoring (and blocking) threat whenever he was on the court. Fa’ale finished with 13 points
The Emus campaign turns to the final group phase clash with Chinese Taipei on Monday.
