And then there were four: CoE set for Preliminary Final showdown

The CoE women have booked their place in the NBL1 East Preliminary Finals.

The CoE women continue their hunt for NBL1 East glory, with a Preliminary Final date against Bankstown set for 6:00pm, Saturday 8 August.

The CoE Women absorbed a spirited comeback to overcome the Albury-Wodonga Bandits last week and they deservedly progressed to the Final Four with a gritty team effort.

There has been a plethora of contributors so far in Finals for the CoE. Nine separate players scored in the epic battle against Albury-Wodonga.

Olivia Olechnowicz controlled the floor with 14 points and six assists, whilst Aspen Crase led the CoE scorers with 15 points and Isabel Smith chipped in with 14 points.

The CoE will look to capitalise with confidence from their finals win, now facing off in a third vs fourth clash against Bankstown.

We have to travel back to Round One to find the last meeting between these two teams. The CoE women fired on all cylinders in that previous matchup to record a dominant 89-63 victory over the Bruins.

The Bruins may have slightly fresher legs than CoE in this one, earning a week’s rest after defeating Manly Warringah by nine points in the Qualifying Final

Regardless, both teams will be aware that past outcomes do not equate to future results. And the outcome can only be decided within the 60 minutes ahead of us on Saturday.
