The Gangurrus women are back on the court this weekend, with Shanghai hosting the second stop of the 2026 FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series from 16-17 May.
They will once again lean on a mix of experience and emerging talent, with Marena Whittle, Hannah Hank and Emma Clarke joined by debutant Brooke Basham.
For Basham, the tournament marks her first appearance in the green and gold on the international 3x3 stage, adding another fresh face to a program continuing to grow its depth across the Women’s Series campaign.
Drawn into Qualifying Draw A, the Gangurrus women will tip off against Mongolia’s Sukhbaatar at 1:00pm AEST before returning to the court to face Madagascar at 2:40pm AEST.
Shanghai arrives quickly after the opening stop in Chengdu earlier this month, where the Gangurrus showed promising signs despite their tournament run ending in the quarterfinals.
Australia opened the campaign with a gritty 16-15 win over the United States in one of the team’s strongest performances of the tournament, before backing it up with a convincing 21-9 victory against Brazil to finish pool play undefeated.
The momentum carried the Gangurrus into the knockout rounds, but a physical Germany side ended Australia’s run with a 21-16 quarterfinal result.
All games will be streamed live on FIBA 3x3 YouTube.
