Basketball Australia is announcing the Final 12 selected to represent the Australian Crocs at the upcoming FIBA U17 World Cup in Türkiye.
A rigorous selection process which included two selection camps and the Foot Locker U18 National Championships to refine a team for Coach Greg Vanderjagt and the program.
There’s a solid core of the U17 teams that competed in the FIBA U16 Asia and u17 Oceania Cup in 2025. West Australian Luke Paul will spearhead the backcourt alongside Andrew Watene and Tom Dammers.
The Crocs have length across a range of positions. Antonio Browne is a versatile forward with plenty of reps at guard. Queenslander Isaiah Jorgensen is a swiss army knife as well. 6’8” wing Riak Akhuar, younger brother of Roor, will have an opportunity to display his range at a world summit.
Experienced and lengthy bigs will give the Crocs plenty of looks. John Aryang, Josh McCann, Lucas Byrne, Yaya Basaran, Alex Mabbot and Will Hamilton will ensure Australia can match the athleticism of the world’s best.
The Crocs tip off at the FIBA U17 World Cup against Serbia on 27 June. All games will be broadcast live via FIBA Youtube.
