A show of solidarity for AJ Ogilvy ahead of NBL Pride Round

Recognising the role basketball plays in creating safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces beyond the court.

Basketball Australia acknowledges and supports Andrew Ogilvy in sharing his story ahead of NBL Pride Round with an understanding that the game plays a role far greater than the court.

For every participant, basketball is a means of connection and a place where everyone should feel safe and respected regardless of identity.

Creating environments where people can be their authentic selves on and off the court is fundamental to the health, strength and future of our game and we commend Ogilvy, the NBL and supporting Clubs & organisations for presenting a platform to do so.

Andrew’s story highlights the ongoing need to foster welcoming and inclusive environments at every level of basketball from grassroots participation through to the elite.

In delivering the 2040 Vision, Basketball Australia remains committed to fostering a sport where everyone feels valued, welcomed and supported.
