Basketball Australia is announcing that Ben Ayre (Tasmania JackJumpers) has been elevated to the Boomers and will debut in front of a familiar Tassie crowd.
The speedy guard was announced as a member of the training squad in the lead up to Hobart and comes in for Owen Foxwell (SEM Phoenix) who is being managed.
Ayre started his career in Melbourne with Nunawading before establishing himself in the NBL for Adelaide from 2019 – 2020. He played internationally in Lithuania, New Zealand and Germany before landing in Tasmania this season.
The Boomers landed in Hobart on Tuesday for training camp and will add the final touches before Game One versus the Tall Blacks at MyState Bank Arena on Friday – Tip-Off 7:30pm AEDT.
The team will then travel to Wellington for the second leg on 1 December.
