Basketball Australia has confirmed the Boomers roster that will compete in the first window of FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers versus New Zealand.
The core of the Asia Cup championship team has been retained with veteran additions to meet the respected challenge of the Tall Blacks.

Dean Vickerman will assume lead responsibilities on the ground as Associate Head Coach for the upcoming window whilst Adam Caporn tends to in-season duties with the Washington Wizards.
Vickerman, an experienced coach at the pro and national level, is in constant contact with Caporn in the USA and re-iterated the methodology.
“We’ve got different dynamics compared to the Asia Cup for these windows as all players will be in-season, so selections will be based on a combination of health as well as form,” said Vickerman.
“We have a lot of respect for our opponents (Tall Blacks) and we will need to find the right selection mix of prime players and rising stars.”

GUARDS
Familiarity will run point with Davo Hickey, Owen Foxwell and Dash Daniels. Angus Glover and Elijah Pepper will suit up as Boomers together for the first time since the Trans-Tasman Throwdown in May.
FORWARDS
Asia Cup MVP Jaylin Galloway is locked in for another Boomers stint alongside Alex Ducas who will represent the green and gold for the first time since 2023.
Josh Bannan has been in form for the JackJumpers and will take the momentum into a consecutive FIBA window. Veteran leader Jack White will head home after a strong start with Mersin MSK in the Basketbol Süper Ligi.
CENTRE
Experience and leadership. Asia Cup captain Will Magnay gets the chance to don the green & gold in front of his adopted home crowd in Hobart.
The ever-reliable Nick Kay will meet the challenge, averaging 17.4 PPG in 2025 as a fan favourite for the Shimane Susanoo Magic in Japan’s B-League. Rounding out the bigs, the versatile Jordan Hunter who continues to play a crucial role for SEM Phoenix in the NBL.
EXTENDED
The Boomers will welcome extended personnel into camp, including Tasmania JackJumpers guard Ben Ayre and two developing athletes Alex Dickeson & Ajak Nyuon from the Centre of Excellence.
