DEBUTANTS
Dash Daniels becomes the youngest Boomer since Ben Simmons who hit the court at the Oceania Cup vs New Zealand in 2013.
Although often introduced as the brother of Dyson, Dash is forging his own journey in basketball. The 6’5 Centre of Excellence product has been active of late, competing at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Lausanne and starring at the Nike All-Asia summit before getting the call from Adam Caporn to attend selection camp on the Gold Coast.
“It’s super cool, being able to play for the Boomers for the first time is a dream come true,” Daniels told Code Sports. “It’s one of those goals being ticked off and I can’t wait to get out on the court with the boys in Saudi Arabia.”
COACHING STAFF
Boomers Head Coach Adam Caporn has assembled a staff with a range of specialised skillsets for the Asia Cup and provided insight on his broader methodology of personnel during training camp on the Gold Coast.
Dean Vickerman will play a central role as Associate Head Coach. Two assistant coaches have also travelled to Saudi including David Patrick who currently works for LSU in the NCAA as the Associate Coach and Houston Rockets assistant Garrett Jackson.
