Fans in Australia can tune into the upcoming Gold Coast battle on Thursday 31 July between the Boomers and University of Colorado live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS, available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports in Australia from 6:30pm AEST.
CU fans on home soil in the USA Colorado can follow Boomers v Buffs locally via ESPN+ – international audiences via FIBA platform Courtside 1891.
“We’re excited to continue showcasing the Boomers and our Australian national teams to local audiences, while also expanding global access through our broadcast partners, ESPN+ and FIBA,” said Daniel Piekarski, Head of Digital – Basketball Australia.
It’s the first ever commercial fixture of Australia versus NCAA team and comes amidst a crucial preparation opportunity for incoming coach Adam Caporn and the Boomers ahead of the Asia Cup.
“FIBA preparation windows are extremely short, so we need to hit the ground running from day one of camp. Our departments are already hard at work to ensure we are highly organised and make the most of every minute together,” said Caporn.
For the University of Colorado, it will create a unique development opportunity with the Big 12 Conference campaign on the horizon.
"The one thing about Australian basketball is that there's a lot of pride. There are a lot of good players who have come to the United States to play college basketball, who are in the NBA from that country, and the Boomers are their team,” said Tad Boyle, Head Coach.
“So, it'll be a heck of a challenge for us, heck of an opportunity for us to get better. You want to play against the best, so we're trying to do that. We are really fortunate and happy to have this opportunity."
