Basketball Australia’s High-Performance Culture has a focus on Creating Better People and Better Performers across our High-Performance environment. This culture acknowledges that what our athletes do off the court is equally as important as what they do on it. In support of this, we are spotlighting some of our dual-career athletes this National Careers Week.
National Careers Week is held in May each year, and aims to celebrate and promote the economic, social and personal benefits of engaging in personal career development. This National Careers Week, Basketball Australia shines a light on Paris 2024 Olympian, Ally Wilson, and her off court career with Generation Australia.
Our high-performance athletes at Basketball Australia have access to a range of resources to support them in their career development both in and outside of Basketball including:
- Wellbeing Managers embedded in their team environments
- The AIS Career Practitioner Network
- A range of Personal Development courses and offerings tailored to elite athletes
- Grants for education and training
- Support and access to internship and athlete career programs
