The U18 Women’s FIBA Asian Championship for the Australian team kicks off tonight after Division A’s matches had to be rescheduled due to heavy rain causing leaks in the competition venue. Australia will take on host nation, India at 10:30pm AEST tonight, with all games being streamed live on FIBA’s YouTube channel. The team features three 2021 Under 19 World Cup Silver medallists, Nyadiew Puoch, Dallas Loughridge and Isobel Borlase. Alongside five Sapphires including Saffron Shiels, Summah Hanson, Jayda Clark, Isla Juffermans and Jessica Petrie who are coming off the back of their 2022 Under 17 World Cup campaign in Hungary. The schedule for this event can be found here. This FIBA Asia Cup is a qualification event for the 2023 FIBA Under 19 Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted by Spain next July.
