In his 58 years of involvement in our sport, Sid Taylor has made many lifetimes worth of contributions through his work as a technical official.
His trophy cabinet is full and this speaks volumes in regard to his dedication to basketball as a technical official.
Taylor commenced refereeing at club level and at the peak of his career officiated at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the 1974 World Championships.
In 1955 he became the State’s Referee’s Association Secretary and began a lifetime of referee administration which continues to this day with the Australasian Police Basketball Association.
Sid Taylor’s dedication to basketball officiating has increased basketball’s standing in Australia and this award is richly deserved.
